When Kyle began telling Cass how his mother never loved David, I began to think that Kyle's mother was the reason for David's death. Kyle recalled one time when he asked his mother if she loved David, her reply was "I do what I have to do." With his mother's reply alone David could have had the gut feeling to hang himself. He was never able to experience the unconditional love of a mother because his was wicked. When Kyle himself realized his mother was the cause of his brother's death he wanted to kill her. Hang her just like David did to himself publicly, in his front yard. He noticed how his mother's horrible parenting skills killed her youngest son yet, she did not care. It made perfect sense, David's last thoughts were directed to his mother. David wanted his mother and everybody else to see he was tired of all the nagging and the making fun of he had to put up with his entire life. He could not help it if he had the features of his father, the physique of a nerd and a poor social life. His mother had disenabled his will to better by constantly puttin him down.
